Thesis Statement
The Breaking of the color barrier that was created to keep African- Americans from playing Baseball in the Major Leagues is one of the most Infamous times in not only the history of the sport, but the History of America. It helped open more opportunities for African- Americans and gave them a chance to showcase their talents to the world. Created originally by Cap Anson, the color barrier or "gentleman's Agreement" came in to effect in the late 1800's and didn't end until Jackie Robinson and Branch Rickey broke it in 1947.
